Afia Link — Hospital Group Platform

Unified three incompatible hospital information systems into one FHIR-based platform with a bilingual patient app and fully automated NPHIES insurance claims.

The challenge

Three hospitals ran three information systems that could not talk to each other. Patients re-registered at every branch, medical records lived in silos, and insurance claims were keyed manually into NPHIES — slow, error-prone, and expensive.

Leadership had no single view of capacity, revenue, or patient flow across the group.

What we built

We consolidated the group onto one FHIR-based clinical platform and built a bilingual patient app for booking, records, and tele-consultation — designed in Arabic first.

The insurance cycle was automated end to end through NPHIES integration: eligibility checks at booking, coded claims generated from the encounter record, and submission with zero manual touch for 92% of claims.

“The patient app finally feels like it was designed for our patients — in Arabic, from the first screen. Adoption beat our two-year target in seven months.”
